Portland’s Tom McCall Park is a 30 plus acre waterfront destination. Any season it is a good season for Waterfront Park.

Autumn is a special time of year for the tree-lined path that hugs the Willamette River.

On blue sky days the bright yellow and pumpkin colors create thrilling contrast.  Like the sun setting, so do the trees as they say goodbye to summer and shepherd in the winter that is coming.

There are a few favorite stops along the marina on a chilly autumn day. King Tide restaurant has a great bar area where you can sit in the rocking chairs and enjoy the view. If it is cold and dark, come inside and have their version of a Spanish coffee.

McCormick & Schmick’s is a fun place to meet friends and enjoy some seafood and a pint of Oregon Beer or Pinot. It’s on the pricier side but a nice treat for a special occasion.

So, when it is a bit chilly or even rainy, bundle up and enjoy all of the beauty the Tom McCall Waterfront has to offer!
